Governance and Leadership Team
Kevin assumed responsibilities as Chair of Action Against Stalking’s Board in April 2023. He had joined the Board in 2018 and was appointed as one of the Vice Chairs in 2021. Prior to AAS, Kevin served with Strathclyde Police from 1979 to 2009, leading on a wide range of operational and specialist posts, including child protection, domestic abuse, sexual crime and offender management, Family Protection Policy Unit and the multi-disciplinary team that established the national model for improvement and inspection of joint services to protect children. He was the police representative on the multi-agency group overseeing implementation of Archway, Scotland’s first Sexual Assault Referral Centre. Following retirement from the police, Kevin was Co-ordinator, South Ayrshire Child Protection Committee (CPC) until 2018. The CPC is the local strategic planning partnership which is responsible for delivering continuous improvement in protecting children from abuse and neglect. In this role he worked extensively with statutory agencies and services, as well as partnership groups including South Ayrshire Multi Agency Partnership for Violence Against Women and Children and other third sector groups, including Moving On Ayrshire. Kevin has supported the work of Action Against Stalking since 2009. He is an advocate of educating young people to help prevent abuse and empowering people to enable them to reach out for help and support; and for Action Against Stalking to grow as sector lead in supporting people affected by stalking. He is also involved in helping run other charities, including being a director of Moving On Ayrshire, which supports survivors of rape and sexual assault. He continues to be significantly involved with Marr Rugby Football Club and as Club President (2009 – 2018) instigated and led the transformational change that has seen it emerge from being an underperforming regional club to become a leading.

Waiyin has extensive leadership experience across the public and not-for-profit sectors in health care in England, Scotland and Wales. Passionate about unleashing talents, she set up Wai Beyond to inspire and nurture greatness in people and organisations. Before this, she was CEO, NHS Ayrshire and Arran, describing her role as ‘creating an environment to succeed’. Waiyin joined Action Against Stalking (AAS) in 2015 and became its Chair in 2016-2023. She strongly believes that the voice of stalking victims is heard and that they receive high-quality professional advice and support. She has used her extensive networks to support the development of AAS and promoting greater awareness of stalking. Waiyin puts back into the community as current Chair, West College Scotland. Former Chair/President roles include Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce; Institute of Healthcare Management (Scotland); Kilmarnock College and the University of the West of Scotland. She was formerly Vice-president and non-executive director of Scottish Chamber of Commerce; formerly Vice-chair of Ayrshire College; non-executive director of British Swimming and Sportscotland. A former karate international medallist, she co-founded Ayrshire Sportsability in 2000 to promote and provide sporting opportunities for people with disabilities. She received South Ayrshire Council Life-time Achievement Award after 19 years as Chair. Waiyin was awarded Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International; Woman of Inspiration and Scottish Business-women Best Business-Charity Award by Association of Scottish Business-Women.

Gordon has had a career in retailing, wholesale and food service companies sourcing goods and services from major suppliers both UK based and Internationally. Primarily involved in collaborative planning processes to grow business effectiveness and achieve long term strategic aims. Gordon has also been involved in engaging multi-level business partners to advise on future strategy and development of their business. A naturally curious personality coupled with an interest in new technology has helped Gordon maintain a position at the forefront of market developments.

With a professional background in Psychology and Clinical Behavioural Psychotherapy, training and development, Ann launched her award winning national and international campaign Action Scotland Against Stalking (ASAS) in 2009, after first-hand experiencing stalking and the poor response by criminal justice system and others. Campaign ASAS quickly became a national and international campaign contributing to major breakthroughs and groundbreaking initiatives most notably the introduction of the ‘Offence of Stalking’ sec 39 Criminal Justice & Licensing (Scot) Act 2010 and in England & Wales with the introduction of the ‘Offence of Stalking’ as an amendment into the Protection of Freedoms Act (2012).
The campaign expanded to Europe and in 2011, stalking was successfully into the Council of Europe’s European Convention (Istanbul Treaty) the only legally binding treaty of its kind. The Istanbul Treaty placing a requirement of European member states to recognise stalking as a specific crime. In 2014, Ann founded the charity Action Against Stalking. She has been consulted on many developments in Scotland and abroad.
In November 2022 Ann stepped down as AAS CEO but has remained on the Board of Trustees enabling her to focus on continuing to support delivery on the vision, purpose, and aspirations for the charity.

Richard is a former employee of AAS and has joined the board as a Trustee in September 2022 to continue supporting the organisation.
Richard's background is in Marketing, specialising in Digital Marketing. He currently works for an IT and Cybersecurity company and his expertise in technology and digital transformation is important in shaping the future of AAS.
Prior to his move to Scotland he worked on international projects for the European Union and was a project coordinator, overseeing international student exchange programmes for young people.

Mark is a former Commander in the Metropolitan Police Service who has performed a number of different roles throughout his thirty-year policing career. He jointly led the establishment and development of the first Family Justice Centre in Europe, providing a partnership driven response to domestic violence and worked internationally to develop Family Justice Centres
 Mark has since worked both nationally and internationally as a subject matter expert on law enforcement and public safety, supporting major consultancy houses in the delivery of sophisticated solutions .
He is a visiting lecturer at a London based University, involved in the design and delivery of the Policing Degree, under the National Policing Education Qualifications Framework. In addition to this he is involved with the Scottish Judicial Service on a regular basis.

Elizabeth has been a journalist for the past 30 years throughout the west of Scotland including the Glasgow Guardian and Irvine Times, and on national newspapers. She has covered numerous high-profile news stories and campaigns as well as running successful newsrooms during a period of major technological change within the industry. She was academic lead on the St Mirren TV project which won The Herald Higher Education award for Outstanding Employer Engagement in 2016. For the past 18 years she has successfully combined this career with lecturing in Journalism and is the Media Lead for the Arts & Media Division of the School of Business and Creative Industries and Programme Leader for Masters Broadcast Journalism. She has also played an active role in the National Union of Journalists, and is a former chairwoman of the NUJ’s Scottish Council. She completed an MSc in Political Communication at the University of Glasgow. She is currently working on a PhD on the subject of transformative education which will include case studies on student projects she has led in HE. She has also led on a series of student projects to create education content and raise the profile of Action Against Stalking and area she aims to develop in her new board member role. While Programme Leader for Sports Journalism she has led students reporting on a number of sports events including the 2011 Children’s International Games in Lanarkshire, the Scottish Junior Cup Final 2011 and the Scottish Grand National in 2011 at Ayr Racecourse, the Olympic Torch Relay in 2012 and has worked with the Host Broadcaster during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Hayley Tennant joins us as Chief Executive Officer to develop Action Against Stalking into its next phase of strategic and operational journey. She has a strong strategic extensive leadership background with having full P&L responsibility, and over thirty years of leadership and management experience operating at PLC, third sector and SME board level. Hayley is a Chartered Fellow with the Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) with specialist experiences in transformational change, organisational development, learning and development, coaching, strategic development, team effectiveness and diversity, equity, equality and inclusion. She is a qualified coach, and an accomplished public speaker and facilitator. Hayley qualified as a centre and tutor, with the Institute of Leadership and Management to write, deliver and assess formal qualifications in leadership and management, and coaching with psychology. She has led and facilitated executives in a learning and development environment on specialist behavioural subjects such as conflict, team cohesion, and leadership strategic vision. Hayley has undertaken interim roles previously as Chief People Officer, and Executive Consultant for long term strategy change plans.Hayley is passionate about mental health, and societal understanding of mental health challenges, especially with children. She sits on the executive leadership and management committee for the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and committees with the college for the National Clinical Audit of Psychosis, and the National Clinical Assessment for Intensive Care Psychiatry. As part of her life-long learning and self-led continued professional development, Hayley wrote and delivered a certificate-based programme in Understanding Mental Health Disorders and Mental Health First Aid. Hayley also gives her time supporting her local schools with delivering class-based “Mindful Me” and “Coaching for Confidence” to all primary aged children. Following a period of working with a large charity in Scotland as Executive Consultant and Coach, Hayley took the decision to seek out a senior executive position for a charity where she could live and breathe her values and make a difference, accepting the position of CEO for AAS was a natural step for Hayley.

Meet the Operational Team
Throughcare Service Manager
As Throughcare Service Manager my main responsibility is to manage, monitor, evaluate and continuously improve the specialist support service we offer to anyone who contacts us looking for support and information about their experiences of stalking.
I manage the Throughcare Support Team and work closely with them to assist in service improvements.
My primary goal is to ensure that every person who contacts us receives appropriate support and advice tailored to their needs.
Prevention & Community
Engagement Manager
My main responsibility is to raise the profile of the charity and the work we do through managing communications such as creating engaging social media and website content.
My main goal is to promote the life-changing support that AAS provides to victims, raise awareness of stalking behaviours so victims can recognise these and seek support/report early, as well as reinforce AAS’s key objectives; to help stalking victims regain control of their lives and to share professional knowledge and expertise with agencies involved in this sector.
I hold a range of qualifications in
Criminal Justice (BA Honours Degree
and Masters Degree) as well as
being the first CAAS PhD student.
I have worked
for various organisations both
in the governmental sector
and third sector.
Community Engagement &
Support Officer
As Community Engagement and Support Officer, my main responsibilities are social media campaigns, analytics, web-design, internal administrative tasks, event planning as well as content creation along with helping the Prevention and Community Engagement Manager.

My main goal is to ensure that our digital media is accessible, to spread awareness of stalking and to build partnerships.

I hold a Masters degree in Criminal Justice and Penal Change.
Throughcare CBT Therapist
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist; I help clients who have undergone or are undergoing the trauma of stalking. Often people will use new coping strategies to manage the experience of being stalked.However, although entirely reasonable at the time, these coping strategies can result in day-to-day problems that can seriously affect mental health in the short and long term.

I am here to listen, understand, and together work through how to resolve these issues using evidence-based tools that help you improve your mental health in the short and long term.
Initial Response Officer
As an Initial Response Officer my main role is to provide those contacting the service with advice and support. This can range from signposting to scheduling sessions with the Throughcare Practitioners.

My main goal is to tailor my response to each individual contacting the service via the support email, helpline and contact form on our website. I ensure that I listen to those contacting the service with a compassionate ear and give them the necessary support.

Throughcare Support Practitioners
As an Action Against Stalking Throughcare Support Practitioner my main responsibility is to support victims of stalking that contact the service via our website, our national helpline 0800 820 2427 or our support@actionagainststalking.org email.
I offer professional and confidential support to victims dealing with various and complex stalking situations. My goal is to support victims and empower their response to their stalking experience. We also direct and signpost victims to the relevant authorities and other support agencies if necessary.
Trust & Foundations Services
My work for Action Against Stalking includes sources and applying for funding opportunities for the charity to continue their important work in raising awareness of this crime and supporting victims.
Honorary Patron
In 2016, Lady Elish Angiolini became the Honorary Patron of Action Against Stalking (AAS). Originally from Govan, Glasgow, she is currently the Principal of St. Hugh's College, University of Oxford.

Lady Elish is the ideal choice for the role of Honorary Patron as she has shown great empathy and interest in improving the support offered to vulnerable victims and witnesses, in particular where children have been involved. She piloted the Victim Liaison scheme which was subsequently extended throughout Scotland.
We greatly believe that Lady Elish's high profile, substantial track record and standing will help us raise greater awareness on stalking and the rights of victims to be treated justly.
Global Partners
Apart from the UK, we are working with our counterparts in Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, America, Australia and Japan. We work closely with Victim Support Europe, The Council of Europe, European Parliament and the European Commission.
Scottish National Stalking Group
SNSG is the first anti-stalking forum of its kind in the UK. It was founded and launched by Ann Moulds in 2011 who continues to chair the group.​
The overall aim is to provide strategic direction, leadership, and momentum to progressing the actions required to integrate the Stalking Act Sec 39.​
The formation of the SNSG forum is a proactive and innovative approach towards helping address some of these complicated issues. For victims of stalking, it is recognition that their voices have been heard by the relevant national organisations, and their need for safety and support will be the driving force behind the good work this group intends to achieve.​

SNSG is supported by Scottish Government and the Scottish Executive. SNSG is part of the UK Stalking Alliance alongside key Criminal Justice and victim support agencies in England & Wales. It holds close links with the Home Office London, Violent and Youth Crime Prevention Unit (VYCPU) as well as the Crime and Policing Group to help raise awareness to stalking across the UK.
