Fighting the scourge of stalking

Any organisation that acts as the voice of victims of crime has to undertake campaigning activity to challenge policy, increase understanding and improve provision for victims of stalking. Action Against Stalking is an organisation whose roots lie in successful campaign to get stalking and its impact recognised in law to better protect victims.

Action Against Stalking campaigns continuously for the rights of victims of stalking.

Through National Stalking Awareness Week in April each year we seek to educate policy makers, legislators, influencers, opinion formers and the wider public on a range of stalking related topics including:

  • How to support victims of stalking

  • The law relating to stalking

  • How to challenge stalking effectively

  • Reporting stalking to the police

  • Recognising stalking behaviours.

National Stalking Awareness Week 2022

National Stalking Awareness Week runs from 25 - 29 April 2022.

National Stalking Awareness Week (NSAW) is fast approaching and our theme for this year is "Stalking is not a joke".

We will be focusing our theme on tackling the negative impacts created by the language people use, the social norms and myths surrounding online and offline stalking - especially in the younger generations.

We must stand together, challenge the myths and the normalising language used to change the understanding of what stalking is, including what the inter-personal impacts the experience of stalking creates. The result of challenging these myths, social norms and normalising language will make it easier for those experiencing stalking to acknowledge, divulge their experience, to feel believed rather than dismissed and open doors for them to seek support.

Throughout the whole month of April we will be focusing on our theme and during NSAW we have livestreams and interviews planned as well a Webinar Masterclass. Have a look below, and keep an eye on your emails in the coming weeks and our social media as we will be sharing more information soon.
